With a view to keeping the Government Securities Market Meetings (REMTP)<\/strong> alive throughout the year, UMOA-Titres<\/strong> is organising a virtual Masterclass<\/strong> as a continuation of the 4th edition of REMTP 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This very first Masterclass will take place on Wednesday 1 June 2022 at 10:00 a.m.<\/strong> and will focus on the following theme:<\/p>\n\n\n\n This will provide an opportunity to gather input from market participants with a view to improving the regulatory framework, in light of the new reforms currently under way to align the regulatory arrangements with Basel standards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As part of efforts to support the development of the money market<\/strong>, and more specifically the interbank market<\/strong>, the WAMU Council of Ministers<\/strong> adopted Regulation No. 07\/2013\/CM\/UEMOA<\/strong> relating to repo transactions in the WAEMU region<\/strong>. This framework sets out the legal basis for repo transactions between market participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition to serving as a short-term liquidity management tool<\/strong>, repo transactions also help mitigate counterparty risk<\/strong> in interbank market operations.
