UMOA-Titres Intends to Play Its Full Role and Will Continue Its Efforts to Structure and Develop the Government Securities Market

View the magazine

This 8th issue of LA TENDANCE follows in the footsteps of the previous seven issues, which were designed to showcase developments in the government securities market and its ecosystem. We hope this edition will receive an enthusiastic response from readers in light of the overarching theme it addresses: the secondary market for government securities.

As at 30 September 2022, a total of 1,077 transactions had been recorded on the secondary market, for a traded volume of CFAF 2,096 billion. On the primary government securities market, during the second and third quarters of 2022, amounts raised reached CFAF 1,353.13 billion and CFAF 1,741.94 billion respectively, bringing total issuance volume for 2022 to CFAF 4,516.53 billion. Repayments, for their part, stood at CFAF 3,073.81 billion as at 30 September 2022.

This level of activity across both the primary and secondary segments of the market reflects the strength of our economies and illustrates the various recovery programmes implemented by WAMU Member States.
