A delegation from UMOA-Titres, led by Ms Patricia DJÉ, Deputy Director, will take part in the 2026 edition of Global Banking & Markets – Bonds, Loans & ESG Africa, to be held on 16 and 17 March 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa.
A major pan-African event dedicated to debt and capital markets, this gathering brings together more than 1,000 participants each year from over 40 countries, including institutional investors and issuers, banks, sovereign and private issuers, law firms, regulators and specialised service providers.
UMOA-Titres’ participation forms part of its mandate to promote and develop the government securities market of the West African Monetary Union (WAMU) among regional and international investors.
A Regional Sovereign Market with Strong Momentum
Against a backdrop of sustained economic growth across the Union, estimated at 6.4% in 2025, mobilising resources to finance development programmes remains a major priority for Member States.
The WAMU government securities market is now a central financing instrument for the economies of the Union. In 2025, issuances carried out on this market enabled the mobilisation of CFAF 11,859 billion, bringing the total outstanding stock of government securities to CFAF 21,629 billion.
UMOA-Titres’ presence at this event is intended in particular to:
- strengthen the visibility of the WAMU government securities market among international investors;
- showcase the investment opportunities offered by government securities issued by Member States;
- share macroeconomic outlooks and recent developments in the regional market;
- deepen dialogue with international capital market participants.
In an international financial environment increasingly shaped by the search for diversification, the Union’s sovereign securities also offer attractive yields which may exceed 7%, depending on maturities, thereby presenting a compelling investment opportunity for institutional investors.
A Strategic Participation to Deepen Investor Dialogue
UMOA-Titres’ participation in Global Banking & Markets – Bonds, Loans & ESG Africa reflects the institution’s commitment to enhancing the international visibility of the WAMU sovereign market and strengthening relationships with international investors.
To carry out this mission, Ms Patricia DJÉ, Deputy Director of UMOA-Titres, will be accompanied by:
- Désiré Sèjro BOSSOU, Head of the Government Securities Operations and Promotion Department;
- Hyppolite Gildas Mêdéssè DOSSOU-YOVO, Head of Institutional Communication;
- Finagnon HOUNKPEVI, Sales.
The delegation will engage with capital market stakeholders on financing dynamics across the Union’s economies, as well as on initiatives aimed at strengthening the depth, transparency and integration of the regional government securities market.
One-to-One Meetings and Institutional Stand
Alongside the event’s official sessions, UMOA-Titres will organise a series of one-to-one meetings with institutional investors and strategic partners.
These targeted discussions will provide an opportunity to deepen technical exchanges on the WAMU government securities market, explore specific investment opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships, while also paving the way for new collaborations.
In addition, the UMOA-Titres institutional stand will serve as a central point for information-sharing and discussion throughout the event. Members of the delegation will present the recent performance of the government securities market, the macroeconomic outlook for the WAEMU region, as well as the reforms and innovations aimed at enhancing the attractiveness and depth of the regional market.
