SEIP 2023: UMOA-Titres Highlights Government Securities in the WAEMU Region

UMOA-Titres took part, as a partner, in the 6th edition of the Savings, Investment and Wealth Fair (SEIP 2023), held on 9 and 10 November 2023 at the Sofitel Abidjan Hôtel Ivoire. This edition, held under the theme “From Youth to Wisdom: Mastering Finances at Every Stage of Life”, provided a major opportunity for UMOA-Titres to present the government securities market as an accessible and secure investment and savings alternative, as well as the CISI-UMOA certification programme.

This first participation took the form of an informational stand and an Expert Tips Masterclass on the theme:

“The Government Securities Market: A Safe and Profitable Channel for Growing Your Savings”

This masterclass, led by Mr Désiré Sèjro BOSSOU, Head of Government Securities Operations and Promotion, and Ms Dior DIAW CISSE, Senior Sales, provided an opportunity to present and discuss the benefits of investing savings in government securities.

UMOA-Titres was also honoured to be represented by Ms Oulimata NDIAYE DIASSE, Director of UMOA-Titres, during a plenary “Conversation With” session on the theme:

“Diaspora, Savings, Investment and Financing: Which Solutions, and Using Which Tools?”

Participation in this fair enabled UMOA-Titres to engage with more than 300 visitors, including students, employees, retirees, entrepreneurs, traders and public officials. Their interest in understanding what a government security is and their willingness to strengthen their financial literacy were at the heart of the discussions.

This enriching experience at SEIP 2023 reinforces the institution’s commitment to continuing its mission of popularising government securities across the WAEMU region through financial education. UMOA-Titres therefore intends to associate its image with other similar events in order to continue raising awareness and educating people across the WAEMU region about the investment opportunities offered by government securities.
