UMOA-Titres Organises the 1st Sovereign Securities Forum (JTS)

UMOA-Titres (“UT”) is mandated to support Member States in raising, on the capital markets, the resources needed to finance their economic development policies at controlled cost.

With this in mind, and in order to energise the government securities market and provide States with the full range of support they require, UMOA-Titres’ core mission is to broaden and diversify the investor base in this market.

UMOA-Titres is therefore committed to launching initiatives aimed at improving the functioning and efficiency of the government securities market. The organisation of regular events focused on promoting the market has been identified as an effective way to strengthen understanding of the government securities market and its operating mechanisms.

It is in this context that UMOA-Titres is organising, on Wednesday 8 November 2023 at the Noom Hotel in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, the first edition of the Sovereign Securities Forum (JTS 2023).

This event will provide market participants with tools to help them broaden their client offering and take part in high-level discussions on investment opportunities within the Union. It will also serve as a unique networking platform bringing together experts and investors.

Under the overall theme:

“Diversifying the Investor Base: A Range of Services Tailored to Client Needs and to the Development of the WAEMU Financial Market”

the programme for this first edition will include:

  • a presentation by the Directorate General for Financing of Côte d’Ivoire;
  • a presentation by UMOA-Titres on the theme: “The Government Securities Market: Opportunities for Authorised Intermediaries and Their Clients”;
  • a panel discussion on diversifying the service offering of financial product distributors;
  • an introductory presentation by BNP Paribas Asset Management;
  • a masterclass on the theme: “The Universe of Solutions Available to Institutional Investors”.

Through presentations, panel discussions and a masterclass, the event will feature distinguished speakers from both the national and international financial communities, including:
