UMOA-Titres Promotes the WAEMU Government Securities Market at the 2024 Edition of Bonds, Loans & ESG Capital Markets

UMOA-Titres, the regional institution supporting WAEMU Member States in raising debt financing on the government securities market, is taking part as a Silver Sponsor in the 2024 edition of Bonds, Loans & ESG Capital Markets, held from 5 to 6 March 2024 in Cape Town. Its participation reflects both an active and meaningful commitment, underscoring its strong determination to promote the WAEMU government securities market on the international stage.

As the only pan-African event dedicated to debt, Bonds, Loans & ESG Capital Markets has been identified by UMOA-Titres as the ideal platform to showcase the government securities market to international investors and strengthen their interest in the WAEMU region.

The event will bring together more than 1,100 participants — corporates, investors, banks, law firms, regulators and service providers — from over 40 countries, and will feature more than 95 speakers, each recognised as an expert in their field. It will also provide an unparalleled opportunity to discuss the latest opportunities, developments and trends in capital markets across Africa.

At this edition, UMOA-Titres will play a key role in these exchanges of information and expertise.

Panel Discussion on Financing Outlook in the WAEMU Region

UMOA-Titres will host an engaging panel discussion entitled:

“Financing Outlook: How Are WAEMU States Managing Their Debt? What Innovative Financing Mechanisms Are They Using?”

The panel will take place on 5 March 2024 at 14:25 South Africa time and will be moderated by Oulimata Ndiaye Diasse, Director of UMOA-Titres. It will bring together a panel of experts including:

  • Jean-Paul Ndjemba, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Matha Capital Group
  • Lanciné Diaby, Director General for Financing, Directorate General for Financing of Côte d’Ivoire
  • Michael Ahonzo Avou, Head of Global Markets for Sub-Saharan Africa, Société Générale
  • Bassirou SARR, Senior Adviser to the Ministry of Finance of Senegal

These distinguished panellists will share insights into the financing challenges and outlook for the eight WAEMU Member States and discuss the innovative financing mechanisms available to them.

One-to-One Meetings and a Government Securities Market Promotion Stand

In addition to its participation in the panel, UMOA-Titres will organise a series of one-to-one meetings with leading international investors. These meetings will provide an exceptional opportunity for government securities market stakeholders to make connections and engage in in-depth discussions on investment opportunities in the WAEMU region.

Furthermore, its event stand will serve as a central meeting point for participants wishing to learn more about the government securities market. The UMOA-Titres team will be on hand to answer all questions and provide detailed information on investment opportunities across the region.

In summary, UMOA-Titres’ participation in Bonds, Loans & ESG Capital Markets 2024 represents an important lever for strengthening collaboration with international investors.

We therefore invite you to join UMOA-Titres at this flagship event and seize this unique opportunity to contribute to the development of the WAEMU regional financial market.
