AFRITAC West

AFRITAC West was established in 2003 in Bamako and relocated to Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) in mid-2012. It covers the following countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Togo.

Since 2012, AFRITAC West has been working alongside WAMU to support the development of the sub-regional public debt securities market.

UMOA-Titres (UT) sought support from AFRITAC West to become operational rapidly. The assistance provided by the Centre to the Agency is intended to strengthen the legal and regulatory framework within which it operates, define the government securities issuance policy, and establish procedures for the selection and promotion of Treasury Securities Specialists (SVTs).
