The West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) is an organisation whose mission is to achieve the economic integration of its Member States by strengthening the competitiveness of economic activity within an open and competitive market, supported by a streamlined and harmonised legal environment.
WAEMU therefore stands as a genuine instrument of sub-regional integration that:
- takes into account the economic and monetary dimensions of the West African sub-region;
- is better equipped to address the challenges ahead;
- is supported by a powerful economic and financial tool, namely the BRVM (Regional Stock Exchange).
